"Get Kids Going! is delighted to annouce that H&T Pawnbrokers - UK's Leading Pawnbroker - has adopted the charity for 2 years in the lead up to the London Olympic and Paralympic Games.

H&T Pawnbrokers have over 130 stores in most major high streets around the UK with over 900 staff keen to support all the wonderful disabled youngsters who need sports wheelchairs and sports grants with the aim of taking part at the London 2012 Paralympic Games. The group aims to raise £50,000 for Get Kids Going! in the next 2 years which will help 'turn dreams into reality' for many disabled youngsters who desperate need the help of Get Kids Going!

John Nichols, Chief Executive of H&T said "we are pleased to be able to support these youngsters who just love to play and participate in all kinds of disability sport such as wheelchair rugby, basketball, skiing, sailing, racing, tennis and many more. Without the help of Get Kids Going! many of youngsters would not be able to afford a sports wheelchair or sports grant to enable them to achieve their dreams. Everyone at H&T are so pleased to be involved with such talented youngsters in the build up to London 2012. We will be doing our best to ensure they get every opportunity to win a medal at the paralympic games. Everyone is right behind the idea and are looking forward to participating in many of Get Kids Going's events such as the Bupa Great South Run and the Bupa Great North Run along with organising their own events in each store around the country. H&T will be launching their first major fundraising campaign, called 'Going For Gold' at the Virgin London Marathon when everyone throughout the country will be able to go into a H&T store in their own high street and donate their unwanted old or broken jewellery, earrings, watches etc to Get Kids Going! by taking it to a H&T store when it will be turned into cash to help the kids. H&T also plan to organise a direct mail campaign encouraging everyone to donate their broken and old jewellery to Get Kids Going! This campaign will be rolled out to the charity's supporters and H&T customers. Over 50 H&T staff have already committed to running this year's Bupa Great South Run and the Bupa Great North Run for the charity. Other staff are organising their own fundraising campaigns in each store nationwide.
