The 15th Abu Dhabi World Professional Jiu-Jitsu Championship started on Wednesday with an amazing display of talent on show at the Mubadala Arena in Zayed Sports City. We were delighted to hear that Justin Levene achieved a gold medal in Parajiu-Jitsu Men / K4 Heavyweight division.
The first day of the Championships saw an impressive turnout, as jiu-jitsu fans, families and friends of participants crowded into the arena in the UAE and created an electrifying atmosphere.
Justin, a purple belt, said: “The true victory is being part of this prestigious championship, despite many challenges. Several parents of young athletes taking part in the Abu Dhabi World Jiu-Jitsu Festival also shared their immense happiness regarding their sons and daughters’ participation. ”
You may remember that Justin and his friend Francis Cade did an absolutely amazing challenge for us over Christmas last year and through to the New Year. They took 2 Bikes and 1 Wheelchair on a 3000 mile journey across the USA. The final video was absolutely amazing and shows the wonderful emotions and love that Justin and Francis gained over 47 amazing days. In total they raised £169,491 for Get Kids Going! which was truly brilliant.
We couldn’t thank them enough for their brilliant challenge and what the amount they had raised for us. They are both ABSOLUTE LEGENDS so it was amazing to see Justin win this medal forParajiu-Jitsu on Wednesday.
